The Heart Behind Second Kings
A brand founded on a testimony.
Second Kings Society was created with a single purpose: to share the message of God’s protection, hope, and abiding presence through thoughtful streetwear.
Second Kings is rooted in the truth of 2 Kings 6:15–17, where God opens the eyes of Elisha’s servant to reveal the heavenly army of angels surrounding them. Every design is inspired by the story beneath it all.
This brand exists to point people back to that same assurance: you are surrounded, protected, chosen, loved and never alone.
The Story's Beginning
Liz was born with a severe bilateral cleft lip, a significant midface bone deficiency, and a rare condition called Situs Inversus with Dextrocardia, meaning her heart and all major thoracic and abdominal organs are completely mirror-imaged. According to her adoption papers, her biological mother became pregnant against her will, already had a daughter, and made the decision to give her up at birth (Korean name: Ok Jin Lee).
Liz spent time in an orphanage and then six months in foster care before being adopted from South Korea as an infant.
The first 21 years of her life was shaped by surgeries, recovery rooms, endless doctor appointments, and the kind of quiet resilience children never quite have words for. Over the years, Liz underwent 14 major reconstructive surgeries. Her medical case was so complex that the chairman of the Oral and Maxillofacial Department at the University of Pennsylvania once gathered a full conference room of doctors and specialists to ask for help because he didn’t know how to move forward with her midface condition.
For most of her life, Liz only understood the physical side of those experiences: the procedures, the pain, the healing. The promise of no more surgeries only to lead to multiple more. She didn’t yet understand the spiritual story happening underneath it all.

Understanding the Story Underneath
Ten years after her final surgery, everything changed.
Liz was listening to Chris Tomlin’s song Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies) when she began to see vivid visions — almost like an out-of-body experience. They were not imagined or symbolic, but deeply spiritual.
She saw bright, glowing angels surrounding her in operating rooms, hospital beds, and the quiet moments of recovery at home. She saw Jesus and angels walking beside her, leading her, as she walked into the operating room for one of her surgeries.
Liz saw angels surrounding her parents as they prayed in their church about adopting her.
It was as if God pulled back a veil and allowed her to see what had always been true: She was never alone. God had surrounded her every step of the way.

The God of Angel Armies
The lyrics she was hearing, “I know who goes before me, I know who stands behind; the God of Angel Armies is always by my side” suddenly became more than a song.
They became a revelation.
"Whom Shall I Fear" became an anthem woven into her testimony. Through its words, she believes God allowed her to see the true meaning behind moments she had only ever understood through pain, surgeries, and recovery. The circumstances hadn't changed, but what Liz could see in them had. What she once knew only as hardship, she could now recognize as moments where God had been present, protecting her and walking beside her all along.
God had opened Liz’s eyes to see that He and His angels had been surrounding her through some of the most difficult moments of her life, just as He had opened the eyes of Elisha’s servant in 2 Kings 6.
The words “Nothing formed against me shall stand… You are faithful” took on a depth Liz had never grasped before.
She fully believes God used that song as a catalyst, a moment to reveal His presence embedded throughout her entire story. Those visions didn’t just heal old memories; they reframed them. They showed her the truth behind her life: God’s protection wasn’t just promised; it was present. Constant. Unseen, yet surrounding her.
Another Thread in the Story
Not long after that experience, Liz learned that Chris Tomlin — the very voice behind the song God used to reveal His protection over her life — had founded a nonprofit called Angel Armies (now For Others).
She remembers reading about the mission and feeling chills. Their work focuses on supporting foster families, strengthening biological families in crisis, and helping vulnerable children find stability and love — including adoption.
It stopped Liz in her tracks.
As someone who was given up at birth, spent time in an orphanage and foster care, and was adopted into a loving home, the mission of For Others felt deeply personal. It aligned with every part of her story — not just the surgeries and healing, but the beginning of her life that God was present in long before she ever knew Him.

Every Thread Woven Together
It felt like another thread God was weaving together: her story, her healing, the song, the visions, and now a mission that reflected the very journey she had walked. Learning that the song was rooted in the story of Elisha in 2 Kings 6, the name Second Kings came naturally, and the vision for what the brand could become began to unfold with a clarity that felt anything but coincidental.
This connection became part of the heartbeat behind Second Kings Society.
This brand was born from that moment. From that revelation.
Now, Liz is choosing to lean into that vision with faith, trusting God's direction and taking steps forward in obedience, even without knowing exactly where the journey will lead.

From My Story To Yours
Second Kings Society began with my testimony — but it's not meant to stay only mine.
It exists to help others see what I saw:
That you are surrounded. That God is with you. That His protection is real, active, and closer than you think. That you are loved and chosen. That there is a promise of hope and a future. That you were made perfectly.
My story is just one story. What’s yours?
Wear your declaration.
Walk in your calling.
Know you are surrounded.
